Since childhood, Brooke has been innately drawn to artistic expression as a way to process life and investigate her own sense of identity. The depth of her arts training is in concert dance, mainly ballet and modern, which she has spent the better part of twenty years studying. However, she has also been intent on the pursuit of several other mediums: photography, collaging, watercolors, abstract sketching; knitting, sewing, crocheting, mending, embroidery; historic hairstyling, swing dance; graphic design, design thinking, visual hierarchy and organization; among others. Underlying all of these disciplines is a fascination with nostalgia, contrasting the entropy of nature with human structure, and drawing connections between various mediums and the many facets of her life. She has a degree in graphic design from the University of California, Davis; a post-baccalaureate certificate in dance from the Ailey School; and is a swing dance instructor who has taught at Steps on Broadway.
