My paintings are rooted in both personal memory and cultural storytelling, bridging the worlds I grew up in and the ones I continue to navigate. Through these works, I seek to elevate everyday narratives into enduring icons, insisting on visibility for people and traditions that are vital but too often marginalized. My paintings act as both tribute and testimony, connecting personal memory with broader cultural histories.

Born and based in Dallas, Texas, Rodrigo Paredes is a visual artist whose work explores identity, memory, and Mexican-American culture through oil painting. As the child of parents from Jalisco, Mexico, he draws inspiration from both Mexican traditions and contemporary life in the U.S., weaving together themes of resilience, heritage, and community. He studied art at The University of Texas at Austin, where he developed his foundation in painting and visual storytelling. His work reflects a dialogue between personal history and collective cultural identity.
