"Through this process I thought about what we deem to be creative or not. I often feel as if we collectively ascribe the label of ‘creative’ to people or objects that we consider artistic but rarely to those of us who are creative in normal, pedestrian ways like at our workplaces, home, or even in normal interactions with others. I like to think that being creative is an inherent trait in every person and not a pedestal reserved only for those of us we deem worthy.
By this analysis I became very attracted to industrial materials and processes that, without creative and critical people wielding them, exist only in our periphery.
Overall, I feel that materials like post-it notes and cardboard hold more creative value in people's lives than any traditional creative medium, that we are all creative and artistic, and that art is merely one manifestation of human ingenuity.
